Recipe import
Save a recipe from Instagram, TikTok or any website
Found something you want to cook? Share it with Matlyst and you get the recipe with its ingredients and method, in English, ready for your meal plan and shopping list.
Save your first recipe
Before your first import, open Matlyst once and accept the AI notice. Matlyst uses AI to read and translate recipes.
- Find the recipe. Open the post, video or web page with the recipe on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or a food blog.
- Share it to Matlyst. Tap Share and choose Matlyst. Pick a folder if you like, then tap Save. Matlyst fetches the recipe in the background.
- Check it over. Open the recipe in Matlyst and look over the ingredients and method before you start cooking.
Prefer to paste? Copy the link, open Add recipe in Matlyst and choose Paste a link. Tap Get recipe, then Save recipe.
Matlyst can only read what’s publicly visible in a post. If a post is private, or the recipe isn’t in the caption, copy the text and paste it under Type it in instead.
Four ways to add a recipe
- A link: paste the address of a recipe from any website or food blog.
- A video or post: share a reel or video from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube straight to Matlyst.
- A photo: snap a cookbook page, a magazine or a handwritten card. Photo import needs Matlyst Pro.
- Text: paste or type a recipe straight into the app.
In English, whatever the original language
Matlyst translates the ingredients and method into your app’s language, so with the app in English, every recipe arrives in English. It uses metric units unless you switch to US units in Settings. A link to the source stays with the recipe, so you can always find your way back to the person who made it.
Put your recipes to work
Sort your recipes into folders and find them again when it’s time to decide what to cook. Add a recipe to your meal plan and send its ingredients to your shopping list.
