How to convert an oven recipe to an air fryer
Air frying a recipe written for the oven? Turn the heat down 25 to 30°F and cut the time by 20%, then shake or flip halfway through. Here's the rule of thumb with a few examples, based on University of Illinois Extension guidelines.

The rule of thumb
| oven temperature | 25 to 30°F lower |
|---|---|
| cooking time | 20% shorter |
| preheat | about 3 minutes |
| halfway through | shake or flip |
| the basket | don't overfill |
Based on University of Illinois Extension. Check your air fryer's manual first.
